Questions Asked and Answered:
On writing the history of Mennonites in Imperial Russia and the Soviet Union

Len Friesen has written the recently released history Mennonites in Imperial Russia and the Soviet Union: Through Much Tribulation.  It was something he never planned to do.  In his talk, Len will reflect on questions that he has wondered about over the years, some since childhood, and how the search for answers led him to write this particular book.

Len is a professor of history at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo.  He was born in the Niagara region, and studied at universities in Waterloo, Toronto and Leningrad (St. Petersburg today). He has been to Russia and Ukraine multiple times over the years.
