Join us for a bus trip to historical sites in Essex County, Ontario. Mennonites first settled here in 1926, and developed a thriving community. In 2015 there is a widely diverse Mennonite community ranging from Low German Old Colony Mennonites to highly assimilated Mennonites that are part of Mennonite Church Canada or the Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches.
We'll see a variety of Mennontite churches as we travel from the 401 down to Leamington. Lunch will be provided at the Essex Kent Mennonite Historical Association heritage centre, followed by a tour of the centre and museum. The annual meeting of the Mennonite Hitorical Society of Ontario will be held after lunch.
Before returning home we'll visit a Mennonite-owned greenhouse.
